As noted before, former AEW talent Danhausen made his surprise official debut in WWE at Saturday’s Elimination Chamber 2026 event in Chicago, Illinois. Danhausen was revealed to be inside the mystery crate that WWE had been teasing in recent weeks that would have its contents revealed at the event.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that is sources stated that not everyone within WWE was supportive of the company signing Danhausen.
In regards to the mixed reactions from the crowd for Danhausen’s debut reveal, Meltzer described WWE’s reveal as “It was the Gobbledygooker. That’s what it was. They finally managed to do another Gobbledygooker.”
Alvarez speculated that Danhausen’s role and career in WWE might end up being similar to a WWE ambassador type role in regards to how he had managed to get himself very over at all of the events he goes to with almost zero national television exposure in his wrestling career. Alvarez stated that WWE will likely send Danhausen all over the place and market him on television so he is bigger at those events he makes appearance for.
In regards to Danhausen’s signing with WWE, Meltzer reported that it was not a unanimous decision to sign Danhausen to a contract with the company. Meltzer reported that there were some people who pushed for him to join the company but there were also people who did not want him there.
