As noted before, Ricochet has been facing online negative backlash over a controversial post he made earlier this week on social media towards a fan. This post involved Ricochet mocking the fan after she had criticized his acting ability saying that she deserved to get MS (multiple sclerosis). After initially defending his comments, Ricochet backed down and issued an apology for his hurtful comments towards the fan and others who are effected by MS.
Ricochet’s wife and former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin recently deactivated her Twitter account after receiving death threats from wrestling fans and shared on Instagram several of the hateful and threatening messages she had been receiving.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that Ricochet’s decision to delete his initial controversial tweet was due to a call from a friend who told him that he should do so. Ricochet reportedly took down his tweet after this call.
In regards to his apology, Meltzer reported that AEW did not force Ricochet to apologize or get involve in his situation.
In regards to potential backstage heat, Meltzer also reported that he has not heard anything from his sources about Ricochet currently dealing with any backstage heat over the incident nor anything from AEW about the controversy.
