As noted before, former MMA fighter and WWE wrestler Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance for AEW at last Sunday’s AEW Revolution 2026 event in Los Angeles, California. Rousey’s appearance was notable for her confronting “Timeless” Toni Storm teasing a potential feud between the two. This potential feud is now speculated to be put on hold or dropped due to Storm suffering an undisclosed injury and her not expected to wrestle again for the rest of 2026.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources within AEW stated that they are currently under the impression that Rousey has not signed an official contract with the company.
Sapp reported that the reason for Rousey’s appearance at AEW’s Revolution 2026 event was due to her living near the area and she has a good relationship with AEW CEO Tony Khan. Sapp also reported that he has not heard of any follow up plans for Rousey in AEW from his sources at the time of his report.
In regards to the reports of WWE’s shocked reaction over Rousey’s appearance in AEW, Sapp reported that those spoken to within TKO and WWE did not seem surprised. Those spoken to reportedly stated that they expect her to do anything she can to go against WWE, UFC, and TKO at this point and they do not see her wanting to return to WWE in teh future.
Rousey recently made comments critical of TKO and UFC over their treatment of UFC fighters and low pay issues for MMA fighters working in UFC.
