As noted before, the second season of the WWE: Unreal docuseries on Netflix featured WWE producer Michael Hayes making negative comments about Chelsea Green’s star status in WWE. Hayes had stated that Green should not be in big star roles like Charlotte Flair or Tiffany Stratton and instead her job was to make others into bigger stars like them in WWE. Hayes later clarified his comments in an interview with the Six Feet Under with The Undertaker podcast this past February claiming that parts of his comments praising Green were edited out from the show but he did not regret what he said about Green’s star making role in WWE.
A recent episode of The Nikki & Brie Show podcast featured Green as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Green revealing that Hayes had apologized to her for the negative comments he made about her on WWE: Unreal. Green also gave her thoughts about her praise of The Undertaker for defending her over Hayes’ comments and for believing in her as a star talent.
“Michael Hayes has apologized to me and we’ve spoken about it and everything. But at the end of the day, I know that Undertaker has had my back because he booked me to win the Mixed AAA tag titles. So he has believed in me since before Michael Hayes said that. And someone of that like high caliber or high status in wrestling, like that means a lot to me. You know, he doesn’t waste his breath on anyone.”
Green also gave her thoughts about The Undertaker being vocal in his praise of her and revealed that he even had sent her a text sticking up for her.
“I know everyone says like, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re so funny.’ Or like, ‘I watched you and that was hilarious.’ But there’s always the same girls that is everyone’s favorite wrestlers. Rhea [Ripley] is always going to be everyone’s favorite wrestler. Stephanie [Vaquer] is always going to be everyone’s favorite wrestler, right? And I’m used to that. And I support them. I champion them. They’re my favorite wrestlers too. But to hear Undertaker saying my name, sticking up for like little old me and saying it was such conviction, like he did not hesitate for a second. And he had told me that in the text.”
