Persephone Comments on Her Dual Contract with AEW & CMLL and If WWE Had Reached Out To Her for Potential Deal

As noted before, CMLL talent Persephone signed a dual contract with AEW and CMLL this past January.

Fightful held a recent interview with Persephone. One of the topics discussed included Persephone’s thoughts about her being signed to a dual contract with AEW and CMLL.

“I think it’s probably one of the coolest opportunities I’ve had because I think it’s a really unique time for wrestling in the sense that I was picked up by a big company in the US, but without having to leave my roots, without having to leave the company that really took off with Persephone. Don’t get me wrong, I was wrestling way before that. But I think the company that just gave Persephone that pad to jump from was always CMLL and that’s where I’ve always felt at home. So I think it’s a really unique time in wrestling where I can now wrestle for a big company in the US without leaving my home company, and it’s something really great to be able to go back and forth.”

Persephone also gave her thoughts about WWE’s interest in her and if they had reached out to her prior to her dual deal with AEW and CMLL.

“I learned of the interest from others. I’ve been in Mexico for three, four years now, I wasn’t fully aware of the US scene or how contracts in the US work. I’ve always just been in Mexico doing my thing. So from what I understood, while being under contract with CMLL, I don’t think there was a way to have communication. I learned after the fact and everything from media and everything. I think it’s really crazy, right? As a kid watching different brands and dreaming about something as big as this and now having interest from different companies is something really crazy.”
