This new match announced was a singles match of Josh Barnett vs. Yuji Nagata.
23 Years ago, these two met in the Tokyo Dome, vying for the IWGP Heavyweight championship. It was the beginning for one, and for other, standing against an outside foe coming to take what he has earned.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that former WWE and TNA executive Lou D’Angeli recently joined Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.
As noted before, this past Friday’s TNA Sacrifice 2026 event in Westwego, Louisiana featured the official announcement of indies talent Ricky Sosa has been signed to an official contract with TNA Wrestling. Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Sosa is still expected to remain active on the European independent scene. Those spoken to reportedly stated that indies promotions like wXw and KHAO are currently planning to continue using Sosa with his appearances to be dependent on TNA taping schedules.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that there has been recent talks regarding a couple of AEW talents working for NJPW for this year’s G1 Climax tournament. Meltzer reported that AEW is currently working with NJPW to help promote the upcoming G1 Climax 2026 show on July 11th in Chicago.
Raj Dhesi, former Jinder Mahal in WWE, recently announced on Instagram that he will be launching a new series to help wrestlers better manage their finances and set them up for retirement after their in-ring careers are over.
Create-A-Pro Wrestling recently announced that Kris Statlander will be making an appearance for the company at their Monumental Moment event on May 1st in Melville, New York.
United Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that they will be holding a new event called “Face The Next” on May 12th in Tokyo, Japan. It was announced that this upcoming event will be spotlighting younger talent from NJPW, Big Japan Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling NOAH, DDT Pro-Wrestling, Dragongate, Kyushu Pro-Wrestling, Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS, and Ganbare Pro Wrestling.
Dragongate talent Dragon Dia announced on Twitter that he will be leaving the company at the end of this month and will be taking a small break from wrestling. Dia stated “First of all, I sincerely apologize for the sudden halt to my match appearances and social media updates, and for causing you concern. I have had repeated discussions with the organization about the future, and after taking both sides’ perspectives into consideration, we have reached the conclusion that it is best for each of us to go our separate ways. With that in mind, and looking ahead to my own future and livelihood, I will be leaving the organization at the end of this month. Additionally, as a period of recharging in preparation for what comes next, I will be temporarily suspending activities starting April 1st. The experiences and lessons I gained through the organization are an irreplaceable asset to me. I am sincerely grateful to everyone involved. I would also like to once again express my heartfelt thanks to all the fans who have supported me day in and day out. Going forward, I will walk the path I believe in and continue to strive so that I may stand in the ring as an even more grown version of myself. I would be grateful for your continued support.”
As noted before, this past Thursday’s TNA Impact! show on AMC and Sportsnet 360 featured former TNA talent Crazzy Steve making a surprise return appearance. In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Crazzy Steve gave his thoughts about his recent return appearance in TNA. Steve stated “It was fantastic to be back. Made my AMC debut, which is kind of cool for any fans of The Walking Dead or any of that nature. I mean, it’s cool. It’s cool to always be on a new TV channel. But it’s also- t was good to be back home and see a bunch of people who I haven’t seen in quite a while, and from what I gather, the response of last night’s (Thursday’s) little segment has gone up very positively.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
