Big E Says He’s Not Interested in WWE Commentary Role Right Now

Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown on SI held a recent interview with Big E. One of the topics discussed included Big E’s thoughts about how he has been approached by WWE for a potential commentary role but this is something he is currently not interested in doing right now.

“It’s possible. I think it would have to depend. I will say I think the idea of being on the road every single week for an extended period of time is something that I’m not really open to doing right now, and God bless the amount of people who’ve come to me, or even tweeted at WWE, ‘Get him on commentary. He deserves to be on commentary.’ Look, I’ve been approached multiple times by people within the company, people who’ve gone to bat for me. Michael Cole has been someone who’s definitely been in my corner and I’m very thankful for all the lovely things he’s said about me. But, man, when you’re on that WWE hamster wheel, when you’re on the road every single week — I tell people all the time, when I first started on the road, we would do five shows a week, every single week, and I was happy to do it. We’re getting paid per show, so being young, being 26 when I first got called up, I wanted to be on every show, and I loved the road and loved my time and I was gung-ho about it. But, once you’re able to get off that hamster wheel and you realize, like, man, I have my weekends back again or when I first started dating Kristen, my fiancée, I was able to come out for a chunk of 10 days for two weeks and man, life is good out here. Life is good off the grind, you know what I mean? Not living the circus life, and I am so grateful for this opportunity to be a part of the pre-shows and post-shows for the PLEs.”

Big E had been out of action from wrestling since March of 2022 due to a broken neck injury and had confirmed his retirement from in-ring wrestling this past February.

WWE Reportedly “Pleasantly Surprised’ by Danhausen’s Early Merchandise Sales

As noted before, former AEW talent Danhausen made his surprise official WWE debut at this past Saturday’s Elimination Chamber 2026 event in Chicago, Illinois. Danhausen was revealed to be inside the mystery crate that WWE had been teasing in recent weeks that would have its contents revealed at the event.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE officials have been “pleasantly surprised” with the early numbers him merchandise has generated for the company.

Johnson reported that Danhausen is currently expected to be at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando this week and is also currently expected to be at this Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Phoenix, Arizona.

Danhausen had revealed on Wednesday on Twitter that his debut shirt is a top seller at WWE’s online WWEShop.

“Danhausens debut shirt is the top seller on @WWEShop go give Danhausen all of your human monies or face the same fate of Mysterious Dominik.”
