As noted before, WWE had enacted a new policy this past February that prevented local business establishments from being allowed to broadcast this Aprilβs WrestleMania 42 event at their venues if they are within a 50 mile radius of the event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The reason for this new policy is due to WWEβs attempt at trying to boost the lower than expected ticket sales for WrestleMania 42.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE recently listed their blackout ban for WrestleMania 42 due to the frustration it had generated from several casinos, hotels, and general tourists areas. It was reported that a number of Las Vegas city officials also grew frustrated with WWE’s ban over the last number weeks as well.
One source spoken to stated that when the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Board of Directors committed to a site fee for WrestleMania, it was to generate economic impact for the entire city and not just to WWE and Allegiant Stadium.
Stadium Swim at the Circa in Las Vegas confirmed the lifting of WWE’s blackout ban on social media on Friday. In response to a user on Twitter after they had posted an advertisement for their watch parties, the company stated that WWE’s ban no longer exists and has been lifted.
Not anymore. It has been lifted. π
