WWE held their Royal Rumble 2026 event this past January in Riydah, Saudi Arabia. WWE currently has two more events scheduled to take place this year and WrestleMania 43 next year in the country.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources stated that there have been recent discussions within WWE about the status of their upcoming events later this year on Saudi Arabia. Alvarez reported that WWE officials also have recently held discussions regarding the status of next year’s WrestleMania 43 event as well.
Alvarez reported that while there have been discussions, WWE officials have not made any official decisions yet regarding the status of those upcoming events.
The reason for the recent discussions is due to the on-going conflicts and war between the United States/Israel and Iran in the Middle East.
In a follow-up report, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported in Sunday’s Daily Update that his sources stated that most within WWE are currently under the impression that their scheduled PLE event this July in Saudi Arabia is unlikely to happen. Meltzer reported that unless things change in the world, WWE would not be going there due to the safety risks.
Meltzer reported that the status of WWE’s upcoming events in the country are all contingent on the current situation in the Middle East changing. Meltzer also reported that F1 had recently canceled their upcoming races in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain this April due to similar concerns.
