Backstage Update on AEW’s Current Plans for Grand Slam Mexico 2026

As noted before, AEW CEO Tony Khan had stated in an interview with Q101 this past December that AEW has plans to return to Mexico for another Grand Slam Mexico event in 2026 but did not specify when it would take place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that AEW officials have plans in place to hold another Grand Slam Mexico event at the Arena Mexico in 2026.

Meltzer reported that this upcoming event is currently scheduled to take place later in the year than this June.

AEW held their first ever AEW Grand Slam Mexico event on June, 18th 2025 at CMLL’s Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico.
