As noted before, Gabe Kidd suffered an apparent injury during Sunday’s AEW Dynasty 2026 event in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada. Kidd suffered a potential wrist injury during the AEW World Trios Championship match between The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, & Kyle O’Reilly) and The Dogs (Kidd, Clark Connors, & David Finlay) and was unable to continue the match.
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that Kidd was taken to the back by AEW’s medical team and he appeared to be injured upon arriving backstage.
It was reported that Kidd was initially believed to have suffered a potential wrist injury due to him favoring it while he was making his way to the back. It was also reported that AEW officials original plans for the match were changed and an audible was called for the remainder of it.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources stated that Kidd was believed to have actually suffered a dislocated shoulder injury during the match.
In regards to the finish to the match, Alvarez reported that AEW officials’ original plans was always for The Conglomeration to win the match and the AEW World Trios titles. Alvarez reported that Kidd’s injury did not cause the finish to be changed.
During AEW’s Dynasty post-show media scrum, AEW CEO Tony Khan provided an update when asked a question about Kidd’s injury status and confirmed that Kidd had suffered a shoulder injury. Khan also stated that Kidd is currently out of action indefinitely due to his injury.
“Gabe is out indefinitely. He is injured. It’s a shoulder injury. We’ll be evaluating him. I can’t say for sure what the injury is. The doctors are evaluating Gabe for injury.”
