As noted before, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla recently signed a new contract with AEW to remain in the company in the foreseeable future. Thekla was offered and had signed the new contract well in advance of the expiration date on her original contract with the company.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that AEW officials were very happy with Thekla’s work since arriving in the company and wanted to get her on a new long-term deal.
Thekla reportedly used representation order to get her new contract negotiated and included terms of her getting a substantial raise in pay.
It was reported that Thekla’s representation had expected interest from WWE for her if she became available on the market but this new deal was made early enough that such conversations were not talked about.
