As noted before, former WWE wrestler John Cena will be the official host of this month’s WrestleMania 42 event at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials did not have any plans for Cena to host WrestleMania 42 at the time of his in-ring retirement match at this past December’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show.
Cena reportedly was informed of the plans this past February and agreed at the time to be the host for this year’s event.
It was reported that WWE’s decision to have Cena be the host of WrestleMania 42 was done in an effort to increase ticket sales for the event.
It was also reported that Cena has signed a new long-term deal with WWE that does not include him performing as an in-ring talent.
