As noted before, Kota Ibushi has been out of action for AEW since this past October due to a broken femur injury and surgery.
Ibushi provided an update this past Sunday on Instagram posting a video of him regaining enough mobility in his leg to be able to do squats and walk up and down the stairs unassisted.
“Hello. It’s been about two months since my second surgery. I will definitely be back, so please wait for me. Sending these feelings to Kenny, Bucks, and Tony Khan!!”
Ibushi also recently reflected on Instagram about Kenny Omega’s performance against MJF for the AEW World Championship at this past Sunday’s AEW Dynasty 2026 event and how it has given him courage for his own comeback from his injury.
“I can’t be left behind either. You’ve given me courage. Thank you, Kenny. I’ll do my best to step up towards the first stage of my comeback.”
