As noted before, this past Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in St. Louis, Missouri featured Pat McAfee making a surprise return to WWE and turning heel on Cody Rhodes. During his promo segment, McAfee brought up WWE struggling to sell out WrestleMania 42 and their business being down blaming WWE’s current product and Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
During Monday’s WWE RAW show, WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk gave a promo that was notable for Punk also bringing up WWE’s current issues with very high ticket prices for their shows and pleaded for WWE and their parent company TKO Group to lower the prices for the sake of their fans and so that more families could see him beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources within WWE stated that the company is currently looking to lower ticket prices for their shows through the summer.
It was not stated if ticket prices for WWE’s upcoming WrestleMania 42 event will also be lowered soon in response to the company mentioning the issue over the past week during their shows.
