As noted before, a group of WWE shareholders filed a lawsuit in November of 2023 against former TKO and WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon over claims that McMahon had engaged in a “sham sale process” for WWE’s sale to Endeavor. WWE directors and officers were ordered by the court this past December to turn over documents related to federal investigations into McMahon’s conduct. McMahon, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE President Nick Khan, and others have been accused of destroying evidence related to the lawsuit. A judge had ruled this past March for redactions in the lawsuit to be removed.
Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that new text messages between WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque and WWE President Nick Khan were recently revealed in the on-going lawsuit.
These text messages revealed friction between Levesque and McMahon in regards to McMahon’s attempt to return to a greater involvement in WWE’s creative process following his return to the company and sale process to Endeavor.
In a text sent by Levesque to Khan on September 11, 2023, Levesque stated:
“How’s it going so far ? Man, I’m wound tight today …. DDay tomorrow, expecting the worst.”
Khan response is currently not known due to he had deleted subsequent messages.
Levesque also sent a text to Khan that same day about McMahon wanted to meet about talent releases that coincided with corporate releases.
Levesque and Khan also sent congratulatory messages on September 12, 2023 after the WWE-TKO merger was made official. Levesque stated:
“Morning! VKM looking to set an in person meeting for today at 4pm with you, Bruce and Ed regarding Talent Policies.”
Khan’s response is currently not known due to he had deleted his message.
Fightful had reported at the time that McMahon and Levesque were both involved with late changes to the plans for the Monday, September 11, 2023 episode of WWE RAW.
Thurston reported that Levesque had sent Khan a text message on December 9, 2023 over McMahon coming to the WWE RAW show in Cleveland and wanted to know the reason. Levesque stated:
“Was just told by security that VKM is coming to Cleveland TV Monday. What’s that about ??????”
Khan had deleted his subsequent messages in response to Levesque.
Levesque also texted Khan about McMahon, Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, and Endeavor COO Mark Shapiro over his issues with McMahon’s involvement with WWE’s creative since he came back.
“the more I think about it the more I’m kinda disappointed in that Ari convo…… Seems like we are in the same place , “I’m gonna tell him to stay out of it or else” that’s way different than “I’m telling him he’s done ….. it’s over” Kicking the can down the road
What do u think about me hitting Shapiro to get his take and let him push or better direct to Ari?”
Between you and I, It feels like they are both backtracking on the “he’s out” narrative. It’s back to the “well if he wants to go to the show now and then” and “if he gives notes and wants to have a 30min meeting now and then, ok”
He just sent an email re script for Ari”
Khan’s response is not known due to he had deleted his messages.
Levesque also had texted Khan about him being worried about CM Punk and McMahon being on the same plane but there were no follow up texts over this issue.
McMahon’s time in WWE would eventually end in January of 2024 following his resignation from the company after a lawsuit was filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant over allegations of McMahon committing sex trafficking and abuse against her.
