Kevin Knight Explains His Reason for Darby Allin Attack & Turns Heel on Speedball

Wednesdays’ AEW Dynamite and Collision three-hour show at The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featured Kevin Knight explaining his reasons why he attacked Darby Allin after Allin’s loss to MJF for the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing 2026.

During the show, TNT Champion Knight came out to the ring. Knight proceeded to address his actions towards Allin at Double or Nothing. Knight stated that he told Darby Allin not to let The Jet down and not to let the people down and he blew it. After some more words, Knight stated that he decided that he was going to take matters into his own hands and he did what he had to do. Knight continued talking about how he was the last person who humbled MJF and it should have been him in the main event but instead he was watching from the bench. Knight stated that he took it upon himself because he is not there to take part, he is there to take over the company. Knight continued stating that he trust Darby and when he started in the company, Darby had told him not to waste any time.

This led to “Speedball” Mike Bailey’s music playing and came out to the ring in a fancy beige colored suit. Bailey grabbed a microphone and stated he hears what Knight is saying but he knows him. Bailey continued stating ge knows how ambitious Knight is and how that’s his best and worst quality. After some more words, Bailey told Knight what he did to Darby was a mistake and they can fix it if he apologizes and own up to what he did to make things right. Bailey extends his hand for a handshake, which Knight responded back shaking his hand.

This turned out to be a ruse and Knight attacked Bailey with a clothesline. Knight then hit a Rock Bottom style move to lay out Bailey and left the ring.

Jake Doyle Makes Surprise Return From Injury

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and Collision three-hour show also featured Jake Doyle making his surprise return from injury.

During the Superstation Showcase 4-Way match between Orange Cassidy, Brian Cage, “Blackheart” Lio Rush, and RUSH, the Don Callis Family’s Rocky Romero and Lance Archer came out from the crowd and confronted Cassidy at ringside. This led to a brawl breaking out involving Doyle making his surprise return and ran out to join in on the brawl along with The Conglomeration.

This was Doyle’s first appearance since this past January due to a torn biceps injury and surgery.

Brody King & Mark Davis Advances in 2026 Men’s Owen Hart Cup

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and Collision three-hour show also featured two First Round matches in this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament.

The first match was Brody King defeating Claudio Castagnoli.

The second match was Mark Davis defeated Jungle Jack Perry.

As a result of their victories, Davis will be facing off against Will Ospreay and King will be facing off against Swerve Strickland in the Semifinal Round of this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament.

Kyle Fletcher Says He’s Medically Cleared & Reveals Reason Why He Turned on Konosuke Takeshita

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and Collision three-hour show also featured Kyle Fletcher making an announcement and revealing the reason why he turned on Konosuke Takeshita at Double or Nothing 2026.

Following Mark Davis’ victory over Jungle Jack Perry in a Quarterfinal Round match in this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament, Renee Paquette held an in-ring interview with Davis and Don Callis. After some words of warning to Will Ospreay, Callis proceeded to bad mouth Takeshita and stated that he was never the Chosen One. Callis stated that the only Chosen One of the Callis Family was Kyle By God Fletcher. This led to Fletcher coming out with Rocky Romero to the ring. After a hug by Fletcher and Callis, Fletcher talked about him coming back earlier than expected from his injury. Fletcher then stated that he is happy to announce he is 100% medically cleared for an in-ring return. Fletcher then turned his attention towards Takeshita and stated that there was one more driving factor to come back early and that was to cut the dead weight from the Don Callis Family. Fletcher continued stating that for a year, he tried to hold The Family together and claimed Takeshita tried to drive a wedge between them. Fletcher continued stating that Takeshita never cared about The Family or Fletcher. After some more words, Fletcher called Takeshita a selfish prick.

This led to Takeshita’s music playing and he came out to the ring with his newly won AEW International title and with The Conglomeration alongside him. This led to Fletcher and the rest of the Don Callis Family leaving the ring and Takeshita grabbed a microphone calling out Fletcher for a match.

Samoa Joe Announces He’s “Stepping Away” From AEW for Few Months

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and Collision three-hour show also featured Samoa Joe announcing that he will be stepping away from AEW for a few months due to Hollywood called him and leaving HOOK in charge of The Opps while he is away again.

While Joe did not state what he will be leaving for filming, he has stepped away from AEW in the past a couple of times before for the filming of the Twisted Metal series for Peacock.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and Collision three-hour show also featured four new matches announced for the card of this week’s AEW Dynamite show on June 3rd at the Siegel Center in Richmond, Virginia.

Among the new matches announced was an AEW World Championship match of RUSH vs. MJF (c). This new match was setup following a promo segment involving MJF, Mark Briscoe, and RUSH.
