As noted before, AEW is currently expected to be holding a new pay-per-view event called AEW Redemption at some point this summer. The city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada is believed to be the heavy favorite to be the host of this upcoming new event.
AEW confirmed earlier today that they will be holding a new event called AEW Redemption on July 26th at the Centre Bell in Montreal.
It was announced that tickets officially go on sale starting today for early access premium seating and on June 1st for the general public.
In an interview with the Toronto Sun, AEW CEO Tony Khan gave his thoughts about the importance of this new upcoming event for AEW especially with a roster of stacked Canadian talents.
“Montreal’s one of the greatest wrestling cities in the world. There’s such a rich history of professional wrestling. This will be a special event. It’s the first-ever AEW Redemption and it’s also the first-ever AEW pay-per-view in Montreal.”
Khan also gave his thoughts about the potential of Mick Foley making an appearance at the event for hosting duties.
“There’s a good chance Mick could come. He’s doing a lot of the AEW events, and I’m sure he’s going to want to be there. I can’t say 100% for certain, but I think there’s a very high likelihood that Mick will be attending and hosting the event in Montreal.”
