As noted before, this past Saturday’s WWE Backlash 2026 event in Tampa, Florida featured IYO SKY and a very emotional Asuka embracing in the ring following their match and Asuka waving to the crowd as she left in a potential farewell moment for her. Asuka is currently expected to be “out indefinitely” for undisclosed personal reasons and is not believed to be “semi-retired” for her wrestling career.
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that Asuka is in Knoxville, Tennessee and is currently planned for tonight’s WWE RAW show in the city.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that Asuka will be taking some time off from WWE. It was reported that this is something that has been planned for Asuka for a while and is not related to the recent roster cuts.
