Backstage Update on WWE’s Current Plans for Tag Team Division

False Finish reported that their sources stated that WWE officials are currently in the process of trying to help rebuild their tag team division from within.

It was reported that WWE is also looking at the possibility of signing tag teams from other promotions to help boost their tag team division in the near future.

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources stated that WWE officials currently do not have that much interest in potentially signing outside tag teams at the moment. Those spoken to reportedly stated that WWE is looking to focus instead on newly made teams on WWE television like The Miz & Kit Wilson and a few teams in NXT that likely will get called up soon as well to rebuild their main roster tag team division.

WWE had released several tag teams this past April as part of a larger batch of roster cuts. These included New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston), Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley), and the entire Wyatt Sicks stable.
