Marigold announced that Seri Yamaoka recently suffered a left shoulder dislocation injury and she will be medically evaluated on May 29th to determine the severity of her injury.
As noted before, Utami Hayashishita made her surprise return to Stardom at this past Tuesday’s Stardom At Nighter in Korakuen event in Tokyo, Japan. In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Marigold founder Rossy Ogawa gave his thoughts about Hayashishita’s recent return to Stardom following her departure from Marigold earlier this month. Ogawa stated “I knew she was going to leave. It happened exactly as expected. She should go wherever she wants to go and do whatever she wants to do. She’s already going on tour with them, right? Stardom was very well prepared.” Ogawa also gave his thoughts about Hayashishita’s future with Stardom and him having some doubt about if she will be successful there. Ogawa stated “With the organization showing signs of rejuvenation, it will be difficult in many ways for the veteran wrestlers to move forward. Even the top wrestlers over there aren’t in the center. She just has to do her best wherever she goes. But this time, she has to put her heart and soul into it. Going around to different places isn’t a good idea. I want her to see it through (in Stardom), to the point of burning out.“
In a recent interview with the Up & Adams Show podcast, former MMA fighter and WWE wrestler Ronda Rousey gave her thoughts about the criticisms of her big return MMA fight against Gina Carano at Netflix’s MMA event on May 16th only lasting 17 seconds. Rousey stated “First off, it’s my third fastest fight. What are you talking about? What were you expecting?” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Yahoo! Japan, NJPW talent Aaron Wolf gave his thoughts about the progression of his wrestling career since his official in-ring debut at this past January’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 event. Wolf stated “Right now, I’m still in the ‘sensation’ phase. Once it becomes routine for me to step into the ring, if I don’t build something new on my own, the audience will get bored. To be honest, right now I still feel like I’m clinging a little to that gold medal. Ultimately, I hope that people will see me as Aaron Wolf, the professional wrestler, without the gold medal. I just want people to continue watching how I live my life.” Wolf also gave his thoughts about how he pays attention to fans’ criticisms and suggestions on social media to help improve his wrestling career. Wolf stated “I search for mentions of myself online a lot. I was just doing it a moment ago. But I don’t really let critical comments get to me. I even laugh about them with my manager. Pro wrestling exists because people watch it, so it’s important to know how the message I want to convey is being received by the audience. Viewers are paying close attention, so if I find something in a negative comment that makes me think, ‘That’s actually true,’ I take them into consideration. If someone writes, ‘Wouldn’t it be interesting if Wolf tried this move?’ I’ll sometimes try it out in practice.” Wolf also gave his thoughts about how he hopes to still be in pro wrestling 10 years from now. Wolf stated “People often ask me, ‘What do you think you’ll be like in 10 years?’ But I think, well, I don’t know. If you live your life thinking about 10 years from now, you’ll never get there. I do want to still be doing pro wrestling 10 years from now, but I want to be someone who’s pursuing what I love. I don’t show any interest in things I’m not really interested in.”
