Mayu Iwatani Vacates GHC Women’s Title Due To Fractured Big Toe Injury

Monday’s Monday Magic event in Tokyo, Japan featured Mayu Iwatani officially vacating her GHC Women’s Championship due to a fractured big toe injury.

“I really wanted to compete today, and I tried so hard to make it in time for WRESTLE MAGIC, but I have a fractured big toe, so I’m truly sorry… I will be relinquishing the GHC belt. It feels so bitter. I will definitely come back for this belt once I return! For now, just for a little while, we’ll have to say goodbye,” she said.

Iwatani has been out of action for NOAH and Marigold since this past April due to her injury.

Lyra Valkyria Comments on Her Being Interested in Wrestling in AAA & Wanting Matches with La Catalina and Flamer

Soundsphere Magazine held a recent interview with WWE talent Lyra Valkyria. One of the topics discussed included Valkyria’s thoughts about the possibility of her working in Lucha Libre AAA in the future.

“I’ve never been to Mexico, so I feel like, oh, it’s a whole new world. The style over there… it’s such a huge element of wrestling that I haven’t even touched. Even just in terms of growing as a performer, I would love to go to Mexico. I keep hearing that the crowds there are, like, amazing. The atmosphere is electric.”

Valkyria also gave her thoughts about La Catalina and Flammer being her choices for who she would like to have potential matches against in AAA.

“Yeah, maybe Flammer. Maybe her, that would be amazing.”

Lyra also gave her thoughts about her belief that the best thing about wrestling is the clashing of styles.

“I think the best thing about wrestling is when you have a different style and then you clash with another style… They’re my favourite type of matches when you’ve got two completely different performers in the ring together, and I think that’s a lot of the time when the magic happens.”
