Backstage Update on Sami Callihan’s TNA Departure – Callihan Reportedly Fired & Reaction from TNA Locker Room

As noted before, Sami Callihan departed from TNA Wrestling earlier today. TNA confirmed that the company was doing a workforce reduction on Wednesday with TNA Head of Talent Relations and booker Tommy Dreamer among those released.

Figthful Select reported that their sources stated that Callihan’s departure was due to him being fired from the company. Those spoken to stated that Callihan had believed when TNA called him that he was going to be heading up TNA creative after Dreamer’s departure.

It was reported that several people within TNA had been pushing for Callihan to be added to the creative team for months.

TNA staff and talent spoken to reportedly stated that Callihan was well liked as an agent and producer. Several members of TNA’s roster reportedly wanted Callihan to be involved creatively in the company.

It was reported that besides working as a backstage producer, Callihan also had been helping in the marketing department and played a big role in TNA’s merchandise department. Callihan reportedly had designed and produced the majority of TNA’s merchandise over the last year.
