Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 event at the SAP Center in San Jose, California featured Team Briscoe defeating Team MJF in a 12-Man Team Steel Cage match.

This match featured The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, & Kyle O’Reilly), Konosuke Takeshita, & Darby Allin for Team Briscoe and MJF & Don Callis Family (“The Jet” Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, & Andrade El Idolo) for Team MJF.

As a result of Team Briscoe getting the victory, Briscoe earned a shot at the AEW World Championship as per match stipulation.

In a follow-up segment, Briscoe was seen backstage for an interview with Lexy Nair. Briscoe talked about his victory and issued a challenge to MJF for their title match to take place at this week’s AEW Dynamite show on July 1.

In another follow-up, it was announced that Briscoe’s challenge for his title match was made official for this week’s Dynamite show.
