Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno Makes Surprise Appearance

Sunday’s WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026 event at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida featured AAA talents Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno making a surprise appearance.

During the show, NXT GM Robert Stone was seen in his office backstage with The Vanity Project (Jackson Drake, Ricky Smokes, Brad Baylor, & Myka Lockwood. After some words by Drake about how they all have the star power and should be all over this Great American Bash, Stone responded bringing up all of the issues they caused him last week. Stone then told Drake he will be competing in a match against Mason Rook and Smokes and Baylor will be defending their NXT Tag Team Championship against two people. This led to Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno showing up and Stone saying these were two people from AAA that he brought in for next week’s show.

AAA & NXT Heatwave 2026 Double Events Announced for August 30 in Texas

Sunday’s WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026 event also featured the announcement of this year’s NXT Heatwave event will be taking place on August 30 at the Bert Gordon Arena in Edinburg, Texas.

It was also announced that Lucha Libre AAA will also be holding an event that same day and location as part of a double event night by WWE.

AAA and NXT will run back-to-back shows on August 30th

Kendal Grey Wins NXT Women’s Title

Sunday’s WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026 event also featured Kendal Grey defeating Lola Vice to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.

This was Grey’s first-ever NXT Women’s Championship victory in her NXT career.

Current Card for This Week’s WWE NXT Show

Sunday’s WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026 event also featured four new matches for the card of this week’s NXT show on June 30 at Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Among the notable new matches announced was an AAA Latin American Championship match of EK Prosper vs. El Hijo del Vikingo (c).

This new match was initially setup following Saturday’s AAA TV show after AAA GM Rey Mysterio stated Vikingo would be heading to NXT to defend his title. During tonight’s show, NXT GM Robert Stone was seen backstage with EK Prosper who informed him he will be getting a title match against Vikingo for his AAA Latin American title at this week’s NXT show.
