WWE is currently scheduled to be holding this year’s two-night SummerSlam event on August 1-2 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The Star Tribute reported that due to a hail storm that took place in 2023 in the area, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority needs to replace around 60% of the U.S. Bank Stadium’s roof due to damages sustained from the storm.
It was reported that Minnesota Sports Facilities officials had stated that the repairs are “proactive” and there is no danger to anyone attending events at the stadium before the repairs happen.
A timetable for when the repairs will be taking place is currently not known beyond proposals from design firms bidding for the repair contract are due on June 25.
WrestleVotes reported that one source within WWE stated that the upcoming SummerSlam 2026 event will not be impacted in any way in regards to the stadium’s current roof repair situation.
It was reported that WWE has been informed by Minneapolis city officials that the roof on the U.S. Bank Stadium remains structurally safe.
