Ludwig Kaiser (El Grande Americano) Battery Arrest in Florida Update – Second Pre-Trial Conference Hearing Scheduled

As noted before, WWE and AAA talent Ludwig Kaiser, also known as El Grande Americano and real name Marcel Barthel, was arrested on charges of battery this past May following an altercation with a man in Orange County, Florida. This incident was caused after Kaiser and a female were allegedly acting “uncontrollably intimate” in an elevator and Kaiser attacked the man in retaliation after being allegedly told to “please have some manners.” The court granted this past June Kaiser’s attorneys motion to get access to the surveillance video evidence for their defense case. Kaiser’s attorneys filed a motion on July 15 requesting for the case to be dismissed and provided Kaiser’s side of the story regarding the incident.

The Wrestling Observer’s Joseph Currier reported that a pre-trial conference hearing was held earlier today in Orlando and Kaiser was not in attendance but was represented by his attorney based on recent court records.

Currier reported that the court has scheduled for another pre-trial conference hearing to take place on Thursday, August 27.

Currier also reported that this date would mean that the initial trial period window for Kaiser’s case is no longer possible due to it had been originally scheduled for August 10-28 after Kaiser waived his rights to a speedy trial.

Court records reportedly revealed that the defense was granted a continuance in the case following today’s hearing.
