Nick Aldis vs. Gunther Set for WWE SummerSlam 2026

WWE held a SummerSlam Kickoff show earlier today at the Fanatics Fest NYC 2026 convention in New York City, City.

During the show, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque was interviewed by Michael Cole only to be interrupted by an angry Gunther who gave his grievences about SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis over Aldis costing him the tag team match at Saturday Night’s Main Event show and a chance to be added to the Undisputed WWE title match at SummerSlam.

Gunther then asked Levesque what he was going to do to correct that, which led to Aldis showing up and a brawl breaking out between the two. This then led to security coming in to separate the two and Levesque officially announced that Gunther and Aldis will be facing off against each other in a match at SummerSlam.

WWE SummerSlam 2026 takes place on August 1-2 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
