As noted before, Steve Maclin was released from TNA Wrestling this past June. Maclin’s release was revealed to have been something he had requested and was granted by TNA due to his growing frustrations with the creative direction and talent pay issues in the company. Maclin had stated in a recent episode of his Boots To Boots podcast that he is interested in the idea of joining Ring of Honor for the potential next destination in his wrestling career.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that there has been recent preliminary contact between Maclin and AEW.
It was reported that it is currently not known if a deal between the two sides has been reached at the time of their report.
No other details were given regarding the recent talks between Maclin and AEW.
If Maclin were to sign a deal with AEW, it would reunite him with his wife and current ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo in the company.
