As noted before, Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, was diagnosed with terminal ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) this past May. AEW has released a special “Rebel Heart” merchandise with 100% of the profits going to support those affected by ALS. Rebel announced this past June that she has become an ambassador for the I AM ALS organization.
In recent weeks, several AEW talents and personalities have been participating and challenging their co-workers to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in support of Rebel. Among those who have participated includes Capt. Shawn Dean, Britt Baker, Renee Paquette, Kris Statlander, Thunder Rosa, Sting, Red Velvet, and The Conglomeration.
AEW CEO Tony Khan recently joined those from AEW participating in the challenge and posted a video on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ official Twitter account.
In his video, Khan accepted the challenge from Sting and nominated Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen and executives James Gladstone and Tony Boselli to take part in the challenge in support of Rebel.
