Will Ospreay Comments on One Of The Reasons For His NJPW Departure Was Him Being “Over The Office”
A recent episode of the Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze podcast featured Will Ospreay as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Ospreay’s thoughts about his departure from New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2024 and one of the reasons being due to him being “over the office.” Ospreay also gave his thoughts about NJPW head booker Gedo being sad when he told him that he was leaving the company.
“I kind of knew that this was gonna be my last year. There was some things that were happening behind the scenes. I was just over the office. I loved the boys and I loved the fans… I got a new girlfriend. I became a dad to her kid. So it was just one of these things where I wanted to be present and I wanted to be there more so I knew I needed to go to my next stage of my career. But I didn’t wanna cut my ties with Japan. So that’s why AEW was amazing, right? In 2023, I had told Gedo that I am gonna be out the door and he was so sad. I remember his face. ‘I don’t want you to go…’”
