AJ Lee Comments on Her WWE Contract Pays Her The Way CM Punk Is Being Paid

Netflix released season three of WWE’s WWE: Unreal docuseries on their service earlier today.

During the first episode of season three of WWE: Unreal, AJ Lee gave her thoughts about her return to WWE in September of 2025 and how her contract she had signed with WWE for her return pays her similar to the way CM Punk is being paid in the company.

“One of the things I fought for back in the day wasn’t just for equal footing. It was let’s get paid the way the men get paid. To know I’m signing this contract where I am getting paid the way my husband’s getting paid, where I’m being treated like an equal, it was a boss-ass moment, I’m not gonna lie. (laughs)”

Lee also gave her thoughts about how her coming back to WWE is something she never expected to happen.

“To understand what my character was back in the day, you kid of have to understand the landscape. I came into a world that was bikini battle royals. There was no place for anyone who wasn’t a perfect 10 super model, and I was not bringing that. And I knew that coming in, and I’m proud to be a ‘Jersey 6,’ you know? I really had to fight and scratch and claw and prove myself to sort of get noticed. Unexpectedly, through that, the fans connected to me.”

AJ Styles Comments on Him Not Closing The Door For Potential One More Match In Future

A recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast featured WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Styles’ thoughts about him not closing the door for the potential of him competing in one more match in the future.

However, Styles did say he reserves the right to potentially return for one more match in the future. He reiterated that on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, mentioning how enticing it would be to wrestle alongside his children.

“I have said this before — and I’ll say it again — usually we’re granted one comeback for one match. I’m not saying it’s going to happen. I’m just saying, usually it’s granted. Never say never. “Listen, the opportunity to wrestle with my son or sons, that’d be pretty cool.”

Josh Bishop, J-Rod, & More Set For WWE Tryouts During SummerSlam 2026 Weekend

WWE is currently scheduled to be holding new talent tryouts during this August’s SummerSlam 2026 weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Among those who have confirmed to have been invited and attending the tryouts includes Major League Wrestling and indies talent Josh Bishop and Ohio Valley Wrestling talent and American Gladiators competitor J-Rod.
