Nick Aldis Comments on His Son Filmed His Training Sessions for & Plans to Release Documentary After WWE SummerSlam 2026

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis is currently scheduled to compete in a singles match against Gunther at this Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 event in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This will be Aldis’ first match in WWE and his first match since October of 2023.

Yahoo Sports’ Uncrowned held a recent interview with Aldis. One of the topics discussed included Aldis’ thoughts about when he first found out that he would be facing Gunther at SummerSlam.

“We were supposed to be on a vacation in the south of France. [But] it was nice to be able to talk to my son and say, ‘I know you’ve grown up around wrestling your whole life, and to you it’s just mom and dad’s work, but you have to understand that, for me, this is kind of what I wanted since I was 12 years old. And so I have a very short amount of time to get ready for it, and I have to be fully committed to preparation for this.’”

Aldis also gave his thoughts about how his son was encouraging with the process and filmed his training sessions. Aldis also stated that he plans to put together a documentary and release it some time after SummerSlam.

Brie Bella Comments on How She Thought About Stepping Away From Her In-Ring Career After Nikki Bella’s Ankle Injury

A recent episode of the What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon podcast featured Brie Bella as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Bella’s thoughts about how she had thought about stepping away from her in-ring career after her sister Nikki suffered an ankle injury this past March.

“Being a tag champ with Paige, I’ll admit that when Nikki broke her ankle two weeks before WrestleMania, I was like, oh my gosh. I definitely was like at the point like, hey, because Nikki can’t compete, I don’t need to compete either. But, when they had the idea with Paige coming, I was like, oh, well, yeah. I was excited, I told Paige, tag teaming is way different than being a singles. It feels like a lot of moving parts. We’ve had a blast.”
