WWE Provides Update on Rhea Ripley Meniscus Tear Injury & Announces Ladder Match for Interim WWE Women’s Title at SummerSlam 2026

As noted before, WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has been out of action for WWE since this past May’s Clash In Italy event due to a knee injury that was later revealed to be a meniscus tear.

WWE RAW General Manager and acting SmackDown General Manager Adam Pearce announced that due to Ripley’s current injury situation, an Interim WWE Women’s Champion will be crowned in a Ladder match at SummerSlam 2026 on August 1-2 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
