Ace Austin Reportedly Getting Praise Within AEW Over His Match Performance With Claudio Castagnoli at 8/8 AEW Collision Show

As noted before, this past Saturday’s AEW Collision show in Colorado Springs, Colorado featured Claudio Castagnoli defeating Ace Austin in a First Round match in the Continental Challenge Cup tournament.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that AEW officials were “very impressed” with Austin’s performance during his match against Castagnoli. Meltzer reported that Austin did himself a “world of favors” with his performance for his standing in AEW.

Meltzer reported that he does not know if this will lead to Austin getting a bunch of wins going forward for his matches but he believes that Austin will get some more television time as a result and him becoming a reliable person that AEW can send out for high profile television matches and perform greatly even in losses.
