Tony Khan Comments on “Kenny Omega Vs. Will Ospreay Will Showcase Why AEW Has The Very Best Wrestling In The World”

Jack Whitehall held a recent interview with AEW CEO Tony Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about the Will Ospreay vs. Kenny Omega match for the AEW World Championship at All In 2026.

“One thing the fans are excited about, Will Ospreay is aiming to be the first Englishman ever to win the World Title in England and he’s facing Kenny Omega. Kenny Omega is one of the greatest champions ever in AEW. I think when Kenny Omega won the world title at Beach Break from MJF, fans have been so excited.”

Khan also gave his thoughts about his belief that this match will show the world why AEW has the best wrestling.

“This matchup as it stands right now, Omega vs. Ospreay, it represents so many things. It’s a mentor vs. a student. It’s a battle of two friends. Also, it’s a rubber match because Kenny and Will have been through multiple great fights together on huge stages. They fought at the Tokyo Dome. They fought in Toronto at Forbidden Door. Now to go to the biggest night in wrestling, AEW All In: London at Wembley Stadium, it represents a lot. It’s huge for Kenny Omega to get back to the top of the mountain of pro wrestling. Kenny’s one of the founding fathers of AEW. He’s been there from the main event of the very first AEW show, Double or Nothing. From the first show we ever had, Kenny’s been instrumental in the launch of AEW. Now he stands at the top of the promotion. He’s in many ways the most accomplished star to be the World Champion. He’s been World Tag Team Champion, World Trios Champion. But I’m excited because Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay represents two of the greatest wrestlers in the world. AEW is where the best wrestle and that matchup specifically, Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay will showcase why AEW is the very best wrestling in the world.”

Kota Ibushi Broken Femur & Surgery Update – Ibushi Says He’s Undergoing Surgery Again This September

As noted before, Kota Ibushi has been out of action for AEW since this past October due to a broken femur injury and surgery.

Ibushi provided an update on Instagram stating that he will be undergoing surgery again next month to replace the plate placed in his body to with a more sturdier and thicker plate to help his femur heal correctly.

“It’s decided!! I mean, I don’t know what it was, but… I want to have the last major surgery of my life. Anyway, it seems that the plate in my America is too weak and won’t heal (around now!?), so I’ve been scheduled for surgery to attach a new thick plate on September 17th. Apparently, I won’t be able to do contact sports, but I might be able to make a comeback? Either way 🙆 ♂️ I hope the day comes when I can take painkillers without taking them 😊

Adam Copeland Checks Wembley Stadium Off His ‘White Whales’ Venue List

As noted before, Adam Copeland posted a photo earlier this month on Instagram listing all of the dream venues to compete in and opponents to face off against that he has left to achieve in his in-ring wrestling career.

Copeland provided an update on Saturday on Instagram posting an updated photo that had Wembley Stadium checked off of his list ahead of his and Christian Cage’s AEW World Tag Team Championship match against The Young Bucks at All In 2026.

“Tomorrow another iconic venue gets checked off my list. Wembley Stadium. My first @aew All In. Against a team I have a massive amount of respect for. A team in The Young Bucks that we thought we’d never face. That ship had sailed when they told @christian4peeps we had to retire. Yet somehow, some way, here we are. AEW reportedly has sold and distributed around 44,891 tickets for today’s All In 2026 event at Wembley Stadium in London, England as of Sunday morning, according to WrestleTix.
