Backstage Update on AEW’s Plans for All In 2026 Card Development

Fightful Select reported that their sources provided some details regarding AEW’s plans for the development of the card for their All In 2026 event on August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

In regards to the Will Ospreay vs. Kenny Omega match for the AEW World Championship, it was reported that sources within AEW has been stating since this past February that Omega vs. Ospreay has always been the plan for the main event. Those spoken to reportedly stated that rumors about an internal push for MJF joining the match that had popped up before this past July’s Dynamite Beach Break 2026 show are false and it was never considered by AEW officials.

In regards to MJF and Andrade El Idolo’s involvement in the Men’s Casino Gauntlet match, it was reported that AEW officials had planned for MJF and Andrade to be part of the match since before MJF lost the AEW World Championship to Omega. It was reported that AEW officials have planned for the match to heavily focus on both MJF and Andrade to help add marque value to it.

In regards to the Mercedes Mone vs. Willow Nightingale match for the AEW Women’s World Championship, it was reported that this match had been planned by AEW officials to take place at the event for months. It was reported that some in the company had pushed for Thekla to be involved when her momentum as the AEW Women’s World Champion picked up. AEW officials reportedly had plans in place for Mone vs. Nightingale since at least when “Timeless” Toni Storm went off of AEW television. Nightingale’s injury reportedly did mean that specifics around the plan likely were changed.

In regards to the Young Bucks vs. Cage & Cope match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, it was reported that AEW officials did not have any plans as of last week to add any additional teams to the match.

In regards to The Brawling Birds vs. Divine Dominion match for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship, it was reported that AEW officials have had plans in place for this match for most of 2026.

It was also reported that AEW officials had discussed plans for a match between Darby Allin and “The Jet” Kevin Knight for the TNT Championship to take place at the event, which was officially announced on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At one point, Darby Allin vs. Kevin Knight had been discussed, though that is not confirmed to be still happening.
