A recent episode of the My World with Jeff Jarrett podcast featured former TNA and current indies talent Grado as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Grado revealing that it took nearly six months for him to get paid by TNA Wrestling during the Dixie Carter ownership era.
“Ken Anderson came up to me and went, ‘Hey man, have you been paid? Have you been paid?’ And I went, ‘I’ve never been paid. I’ve been here since January. I’ve not been paid once.’”
Grado also gave his thoughts about how he eventually got back pay for his late wages but he originally was just happy wrestling in the United States and getting his flights paid for by TNA.
“I was having the time of my life. I was still working in the fire brigade back then. So the wrestling for me was going to Orlando, getting the flights paid for me. [So] I couldn’t give a damn if I was getting paid or not, if I’m being honest. But there was one time where I hadn’t been paid again for four or five months and I had the guts to kind of speak up.”
Grado worked for TNA from 2014 to 2018 and made a return appearance for TNA’s UK Invasion Tour in 2023.
