As noted before, Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, was diagnosed with terminal ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) this past May. AEW has released a special “Rebel Heart” merchandise with 100% of the profits going to support those affected by ALS. Rebel announced this past June that she has become an ambassador for the I AM ALS organization. AEW will also be holding a special themed “Rebel Heart” episode of AEW Dynamite on September 9 in Athens, Georgia in honor of Rebel and to raise money for the I Am ALS and the Team Gleason Foundation.
In recent weeks, several AEW talents and personalities have been participating and challenging their co-workers to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in support of Rebel. Among those who have participated includes Capt. Shawn Dean, Britt Baker, Renee Paquette, Kris Statlander, Thunder Rosa, Sting, Red Velvet, The Conglomeration, and AEW CEO Tony Khan.
Harley Cameron recently joined those from AEW participating in the challenge and posted a video on Instagram.
In her video, Cameron accepted the challenge from Renee Paquette and nominated the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Flatbacks, Billy Gunn, Karen Jarrett, Shawn Spears, Jeff Jarrett, and Tyler Breeze to take part in the challenge in support of Rebel.
