Swerve Strickland on Him & The New Level Can Build Up Multiple Divisions While Still Being A Trios In AEW & How It “Meant A Lot To Him” To Be Part Of Will Ospreay’s Entrance At All In 2026

A recent episode of the Rich Latta Pro Wrestling podcast featured AEW World Trios Champion Swerve Strickland as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Strickland’s thoughts about him and The New Level (Kofi & Austin Creed) winning the AEW World Trios titles at AEW All In 2026.

“Trios champ is awesome. It’s even better for the people that I took it away from. Mr. Hangman Page, Mr. Bandido, Mr. Brody King, all my opps.”

Strickland also gave his thoughts about his and The New Level’s mission statement as a trios group in AEW.

“Well, first of all, we just wanted to make a statement. You know, if I was going to jump into the trios division, I wanted to make a statement with something new, fresh, and refreshing for those guys as well. Cause them guys have done it all in the business. They’ve been at the top level, but now they’re going to the highest level, the highest level that you can go. You know, there’s new levels to this whole game and we’re about to show the world that, there’s way more that we can do with just like three guys in the trios division. We can really build up multiple divisions, still being in a trio, still being successful together, and it’s something new and it’s something I’m always been a keen on giving people. They didn’t know it’s what they wanted until they see it. So all those things got accomplished tonight, and then, honestly, this is honestly my first Wembley win, too. So we got that accomplished, too.”

Strickland also gave his thoughts about how it meant a lot to him to be featured as part of Will Ospreay’s entrance at All In 2026.

“That’s the kind of thing where it’s like, you don’t get as far as we do to the top level without help. You don’t do it by yourself, somebody helped bring you up along the way, whether it’s your enemy, whether it’s your friend, whether it’s like he beat you down till he got there or you beat them down and they help level you up and you like kind of catapulted that for their momentum, and I feel like that’s the synonymous visual of like all these guys, and for me to be like one of those last big obstacles in his career, such a like infamous career that Will’s had, probably one of the greatest wrestling careers when it’s all said and done ever for me, to be an important piece of that for him at that stage, while he’s like still ascending, still on the ascent, means a lot to me, and it means I’ve done a great job being one of those guys for him. As he’s done for me when I was working to make it to the top without somebody else helping you out.”
