TNA Announces New TNA X-Division Champion To Be Crowned at TNA Bound For Glory 2026

As noted before, this past Sunday’s TNA Lockdown 2026 event in Chicago, Illinois featured Leon Slater defeating Cedric Alexander to become the new TNA X-Division Champion. Slater’s victory was notable for him exercising Option C for a TNA World Championship match against Nic Nemeth at Bound For Glory 2026, which takes place on October 11 in Tampa, Florida.

TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella provided an update earlier today on Twitter announcing that as a result of Slater exercising Option C and vacting his TNA X-Division title, qualifying matches will be held to determine the official competitors for a Six-way match for the Vacant TNA X-Division title at Bound For Glory.

“Ladies and gentlemen, it is I, Santino Marella, the Director of Authority. Leon Slater has exercised ‘Option C,’ which means he will challenge for the TNA World title. In light of that, he has vacated the X-Division Championship, and we will be starting a series of qualifying matches in which the winner of each match will then be in a six-way match for the X-Division title at Bound for Glory.”
