Backstage Update on WWE’s Current Plans for Roman Reigns’ Challenger for Sept. 14 WWE RAW Show in Mexico City

As noted before, WWE is holding a new tournament to determine the official opponent for Roman Reigns’ for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at the September 14th WWE RAW show in Mexico City, Mexico. This upcoming tournament will be featuring luchadors from RAW, SmackDown, and Lucha Libre AAA.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that one WWE talent spoken to stated that the general feeling backstage is that Penta will be the winner of the on-going luchadores tournament to determine the officially challenger for Reigns’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE’s upcoming WWE RAW show in Mexico City.

Road To Survivor Series Live Events Announced For This October & November

WWE announced that they will be holding a new Road To Survivor Series: WarGames live events tour this October and November.

This upcoming house shows tour will be taking place from October 15 to November 19 in the United States and Canada.

WWE has announced seven live event dates across the United States and Canada as part of the Road to Survivor Series: WarGames Tour. Tickets for each event will go on sale Friday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. local.

Fans can purchase individual event tickets during an exclusive presale starting on Thursday, Aug. 20. Tickets and event information can be found at WWE.com/Events.

In July, WWE in partnership with Houston First Corporation and the Houston Astros, announced that Survivor Series: WarGames will be held at Daikin Park in Houston on Saturday, Nov. 28, marking the event’s return to the city for the first time since 2017.

WWE Reportedly Expected To Add More Live Events For This December

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources stated that WWE is currently expected to add even more house shows for their 2026 live events schedule than has been currently announced.

Alvarez reported that WWE is currently expected to also be adding a new set of house show events for this December as well to fill out the remainder of this year.
