Chad Gable Comments on The Low Points On The Road To His WWE Intercontinental Title Victory

As noted before, Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 2 event at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota featured Chad Gable defeating Penta to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion for his first ever singles championship in his WWE career.

Following the event, WWE held a SummerSlam post-show featuring Gable as one of the guests. One of the topics discussed included Gable’s thoughts about the low points that happened on the road to getting where he is currently now in his WWE career.

“I was a grown man, husband, father, and I found myself fighting back tears and I couldn’t do it; I lost it. The tears were just flowing. It’s reminiscent. It just reminds you of everything. I don’t need to list all of it, but I mean, Shorty G, there was some low points, and you either stick with it and demand it of yourself that you’re gonna overcome it all, or you don’t, and I demanded it of myself and that was so fulfilling.”

Gable also gave his thoughts about his shoulder injury in 2025 that kept him out of action for months.

“I had the match at Worlds Collide as Chad Gable, later in the day Money In The Bank as El Grande Americano. Time of my life, favorite day of my career. Shoulder injury right after that. I thought that was it. We were there, on the cusp, we had it, got cut off. But you never ever know. Then on the flip side all those circumstances lead to the moment. It’s a cliche, and I do hate cliches, but really you have to stick with it. If you never give up and deliver on what you say and work your ass off, you’ll get what you deserve.”

Baron Corbin Comments on His WWE United States Title Win & Plans To Bring Back Previous Belt Design

As noted before, Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 2 event also featured Baron Corbin defeating Trick Williams to become the new WWE United States Champion.

WWE’s SummerSlam post-show also featured Corbin as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Corbin’s thoughts about his WWE United States Championship victory over Williams.

“I feel good. Look, I told everybody I was on a mission when I got here. I told everybody that steps in my way, they’re gonna get run over. People are gonna get hurt, there’s gonna be collateral damage. I’m not here for friends, I’m not here for any bit of history of what I did prior to this. It’s walking in the door and making my statement and that’s what I did. Three weeks, I’m in SummerSlam, facing Trick Williams one-on-one for the U.S. Title. I told him I was taking it home, I told him there was nothing he could do, and I did it. Very simple.”
