CM Punk’s Trainer Addresses Allegations of Punk Using Steroids in WWE For His New Physique
As noted before, CM Punk underwent a noticeable physique change during his time away from WWE from this past April’s WrestleMania 42 event until his surprise return at the July 6th WWE RAW show in Rosemont, Illnois. Punk’s physique change lead to some people online speculating and claiming that Punk might have used performing enhancement substances to help achieve his new look. Among those who claimed Punk had used steroids included former AEW and current TNA talent Ryan Nemeth.
CM Punk’s trainer Jay Ferruggia responded on Thursday on Instagram to the allegations of Punk using steroids to achieve his new new look and instead claimed it was his dedication to fitness that led to his physical changes.
“CM Punk is working his ass off. From day one, when he reached out to me, he has done every single thing that I’ve asked him to do.
He’s on vacation in Hawaii, checking in with me every single day, sending me pictures, sending me his meals, sending me his macros, his weight, his temperature after meals, sending me videos from the gym, taking naps, getting enough sleep, getting morning sunshine, taking the supplements I tell him to take, never missing a workout, doing more than I ask him. I have to hold him back.
In 30 years in this business, CM Punk is working as hard as anyone I’ve ever worked with. He’s as dedicated as anyone.
And you want to sit here and post after post, ‘CM Punk is on steroids,’ blah, blah. Meanwhile, half these pictures are AI, and the other half are from being in the gym with great lighting, with a great pump.
He’s gotten significantly leaner, so when you get leaner, you look bigger, and he’s training in a different way. Honestly, he’s making almost newbie gains.
So just because someone’s getting somewhere and accomplishing something that you can’t doesn’t mean they are taking shortcuts and cheating.”

Backstage Update on WWE’s Plans for Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight Match
In recent weeks of WWE RAW shows, LA Knight has been feuding with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and The Bloodline over him wanting a shot at Reigns’ title and Reigns refusing over him believing that Knight hasn’t done anything to earn it.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that a Reigns vs. Knight match is currently on the table with a “strong sense internally” is that this match will take place at this October’s Money in the Bank 2026 event.
Knight had mention this event as a potential location for a title match between him and Reigns during his promo segment with Reigns on the August 3rd episode of WWE RAW.
This year’s Money in the Bank event takes place on October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Alexa Bliss & Randy Orton Makes In-Ring Return at Aug. 13 WWE Live Event
Thursday’s WWE house show event in Manchester, New Hampshire featured Alexa Bliss and Randy Orton making their in-ring returns for WWE.
Bliss teamed up with Charlotte Flair & Tiffany Stratton in a Six-Woman Tag Team match against Fatal Influence (Lainey Reid, Fallon Henley, & Jayne), which was won by Bliss’ team. Bliss was seen sporting a cast on her arm.
Orton competed in a Street Fight match against Cody Rhodes, which was won by Rhodes.
This was Bliss’ first match since the July 10th WWE SmackDown show following her suffering an “arm injury” at the hands of Jade Cargill. This was Orton’s first match since this past April’s WrestleMania 42 Night 1 event.
