Oba Femi Responds To CM Punk Calling Him Out For Undisputed WWE Title Match on SummerSlam Post-Show

As noted before, Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk called out Oba Femi for a potential future title match during the SummerSlam post-show following Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 1 event in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

During his portion of the post-show, Femi responded to CM Punk calling him out for a potential future match and warned Punk that his “pipebombs” won’t work when it comes to him.

“There are some people who say they are the best on this microphone, in that ring, even at commentary. You want to drop pipebombs and all that stuff, but understand one thing. Your bombs don’t work when it comes to Oba Femi. You are gifted on this mic and so am I.”

Triple H Comments on “99% Of The Time The Person Gets Over, Then Gets Pushed. If You Want A Top Spot, Go Take It”

WWE’s SummerSlam post-show following Saturday’s SummerSlam 2026 Night 1 event in Minneapolis also featured WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque as one of the guests. One of the topics discussed included Levesque’s thoughts about recent comments made by Damian Priest about him being tired of seeing the same people in the top spots and fans feeling a similar way in wanting younger stars to be pushed into main event spots.

“If you’re the guy that wants to take the spot, it’s frustrating when there are guys above you that have the spot. We’re in a period of time where there are a lot of top performers in top spots that, over time, have earned those spots and are selling tickets and are incredibly popular. You really have to do something. The narrative of, ‘It’s my turn.’ There are no turns. That’s not how it works. You earn the spot. If somebody is getting over more than somebody else, we’d move that person into the spot and move the other person down. It’s not just crowd reaction. Are they going to be good in the spot? Are they going to hold up their end of the bargain or screw it up or make a mistake where we regret giving it to them? All those things are factored in. The right person in the right position. I love the fact that sometimes talent is frustrated; that means work harder. Get yourself there. Figure it out. I’ve seen a million talent succeed because of what they do, not because of storyline or creative. 99% of the time in this business, the person gets over and then gets the push. That’s how it’s supposed to work. You go do you, and then we follow it. Otherwise, most of the time, they will choke on it because it’s not what the fans believe in. If you want the spot, go take it. It’s all there for everybody to take. Whenever anybody says, ‘I don’t know why I’m not in that spot.’ Are you more over than Cody or Roman or Punk or Liv or IYO? Make those crowd reactions happen. Whatever you need to do. I love that mentality because it makes people work harder. If you’re not willing to work to get the spot, you shouldn’t have it anyway.”
