Sami Zayn Reportedly Dealing With Legitimate Injury

As noted before, the August 7th WWE SmackDown show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featured a backstage promo segment involving Sami Zayn, Candice LeRae, Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk, and Johnny Gargano. This segment was notable for Zayn claiming that he has been dealing with a broken hand injury and showed off a cast on his hand as his proof. It was not known at the time if Zayn’s injury was legitimate or just for storyline purposes.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources within WWE confirmed that Zayn’s injury is legitimate and not a storyline.

No other details were given regarding Zayn’s injury nor a timetable when he might be recovered from it.

WWE Reportedly Dropped Plans for Lil Yachty Concert for Sept. 6th WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event Show

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials had plans at one point for a Lil Yachty concert to be part of the card for their upcoming WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event show on September 6 in Atlanta, Georgia.

It was reported that WWE officials originally wanted to heavily promote a legitmate Lil Yachty concert as one of the show’s main drawing points.

Those plans reportedly were dropped due to the poor reception surrounding the segments from WWE’s last Saturday Night’s Main Event show this past July at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. WWE officials reportedly are currently opting to put a greater emphasis on the in-ring product for their upcoming Sunday Night’s Main Event show instead.

It was also reported that WWE officials still have plans for Lil Yachty and Trick Williams to be the focal points for their upcoming show due to it taking place in Lil Yachty’s hometown.

“Big” Bronson Reed Provides Another Update on His Distal Bicep Tear Injury & Return Plans

As noted before, “Big” Bronson Reed has been out of action for WWE since this past February due to a distal bicep tear injury and surgery. Reed recently posted a photo on Twitter of his new muscular physique he has been working on while training for his eventual in-ring return to WWE. WWE currently has plans for Reed to be presented as a main event-level heel when he returns from his injury.

Reed provided an update on Thursday on Instagram revealing that he recently visited WWE’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
