Thekla Reveals What Mick Foley Told Her During Their First Meeting
A recent episode of TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast featured Thekla as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Thekla’s thoughts about her conversation with WWE Hall of Famer and AEW personality Mick Foley when they met for the first time in AEW.
“He must have seen me from afar, and I’m super shortsighted, but I could tell he wanted to say hi. It was my first time seeing him ever, so I stopped what I was doing and came over, and he just said some very, very nice things. Along the lines of, ‘In the 30 years of my career, or more, that I’ve been doing this, it becomes more rare with time passing that you see something that’s new and refreshing.’ And once he stumbled over my stuff, he thought it was very cool.”
Thekla also stated that it was a “very nice” first interaction because Foley was getting emotional.
Thekla also gave her thoughts about how she felt a lot of Foley’s underdog mentality that he had while growing up in the business and trying to do things differently.
“I really vibe with that because I think I’m a little bit like that too.”

Kevin Knight Comments on Swerve Strickland & Lio Rush Being ” My Two Biggest Inspirations When I Got Into The Business”
Hot 100.9 held a recent interview with “The Jet” Kevin Knight as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Knight’s thoughts about the main goal that inspired him to pursue a career in pro wrestling.
“I feel like I wanted to create what I wanted to see in wrestling. Growing up, of course you had a couple of prominent black wrestlers but they were always stuck in a box or had to be a certain way or just weren’t taken seriously at all. I feel like I just wanted to be myself as well as just being taken serious. That was my whole goal getting into it.”
Knight also gave his thoughts about Swerve Strickland and Lio Rush being his biggest inspirations when he got into the wrestling business.
“Swerve Strickland and Lio Rush were like my two biggest inspirations right when I got in because I saw them on the indies and they were being taken serious as main eventers and they were just being themselves as black men. That was something I felt like we didn’t get much growing up. So, I was like, let me add to the fire. Now, I’m working with guys like that. I had my first main event this year with Swerve Strickland. I had a title defense against Lio Rush. So, just being able to work with those guys is a dream come true in itself.”

Thunder Rosa Comments on Her Not Being On AEW TV As Much As She Would Like
A recent episode of The Rockin’ Ride Home podcast featured Thunder Rosa as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Rosa’s thoughts about her belief that people like her have to keep outdoing themselves in the pro wrestling business and her working more in CMLL and other promotions because she has not been on AEW TV as much as she would liked.
“Well, it’s a big responsibility because you have to, like, keep- I feel like people like me, we just feel like we have to keep, like, outdoing ourselves, and we have to keep doing more because of how much we have been able to accomplish and, like, the difference that we have made in professional wrestling, or at least that’s what I thought, or I think that I’ve been able to, like, just make that little, like, move the needle a little bit.
And I just think it’s important to continue to do that. Right now, I’m focusing a lot of doing that outside of the ring, right? Because I haven’t been as much on TV as I would like to, but I’ve been doing a lot of stuff in other companies like CMLL. So that’s important to me, too. So I’m just going to keep working my butt off to be the best that I can. I’m going to keep working on being the best that I can be for my peers and for my community.”
