WWE Reportedly Considering Holding Survivor Series or Royal Rumble In Australia In 2028

As noted before, WWE recently signed a new multi-year partnership agreement with the Western Australian government to hold WWE Weekend Takeovers including a Premium Live Event annually from 2026 to 2028 in Perth, Australia. WWE will be holding this year’s Wrestlepalooza event on December 12 in Perth as part of this new deal.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials are currently considering holding a major PLE event in Perth in 2028.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that one of the WWE Weekend Takeovers for Australia could be reserved that year for Survivor Series or Royal Rumble as potential options for the major PLE.

Update on Crown Jewel 2026 Event Status After U.S. Department Of State Travel Advisory

WWE is currently scheduled to be holding this year’s Crown Jewel event on November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The United States Department of State issued an official update this past Tuesday to their existing Level 3 travel advisory in regards to Saudi Arabia.

This updated advisory stated:

Travel advisory – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Level 3 – Reconsider travel

Also includes areas at level 4

Reconsider travel to Saudi Arabia due to risk of Iranian drone and missile targeting of American interests, armed conflict, terrorism, exit bans, and local laws regarding social media activity. Some areas have increased risk. Read the entire Travel Advisory.

Do Not Travel to the Yemen border due to threat of terrorism.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that one source spoken to stated that the recent situation with Saudi Arabia has been a topic of discussion within WWE.

This same source reportedly also stated that regardless of the location, the November 7 date for Crown Jewel 2026 is expected to remain in place due to WWE is committed to ESPN for that date.

Lawsuit Filed Against WWE Over 2015 Shooting & Arrest Of A Man Outside of Performance Center

As noted before, a man named Armando Alejandro Montalvo was involved in a incident at WWE’s Performance Center that involved him being shot by police officers and arrested after allegedly trespassing and vandalizing the building.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Montalvo had filed a civil lawsuit this past May and an amended lawsuit this past August before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida (Orlando).

In the lawsuit, Montalvo is suing WWE, WWE Performance Center Manager David Bailey, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), individual OCSO deputies Cpl. S. Wahl and Deputy D. Richardson, Aspire Health Partners Inc., and Walmart Inc. over claims of a coordinated corporate and law enforcement conspiracy involving excessive force, illegal chemical restraint, and pretextual arrests.

Montalvo claims that there is a conspiracy against him and also claimed that during the 2015 incident he was unarmed, intoxicated, and wearing headphones. Montalvo is also claiming that WWE staff mocked him and bypassed standard 911 dispatch lines to contact off-duty deputies directly. Montalvo also claims that an off-duty deputy ambushed and shot him despite a female WWE employee on the scene verbally acknowledging that he didn’t have a weapon. Montavlo is also claiming that a knife was planted after the shooting to retroactively justify the use of force despite no weapon was ever recovered.

Montalvo is currently seeking a trial by jury and requesting compensatory and punitive damages, as well as declaratory relief against all named parties.

Johnson reported that WWE had filed for and received an order of protection against Montalvo in April of 2018 after he took to social media that the company believed to be a threat against them. This protection order reportedly was later made permanent against Montalvo.
