Andrade El Idolo Comments on Origin of Taking His Pants Off Routine During Matches
A recent episode of the AEW Close Up with Renee Paquette show featured AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Andrade’s thoughts about the origin of taking off his pants routine during his matches.
“I love wrestling and I respect the ring. In the ring, I like to show who I am. I know I’m a good wrestler. One moment, I was beating some wrestler, and the people started saying something, but I didn’t understand it. I asked the ref, ‘What are the people saying?’ ‘The people are saying to take your pants off.’ ‘What?’ It was weird because it’s usually ‘Tables! This is awesome!’ But people saying ‘take your pants,’ I don’t understand. I’m in there, I’m beating him, I’m heel. ‘Maybe they want more punches,’ but they continued (to chant for me to take my pants off). I go over to ref Aubrey, ‘What did they finally say?’ ‘Take your pants off.’ ‘What? No.’ ‘Yeah, they want your pants off.’ Okay, you want the pants off. I take my belt off, my zipper down, and the people go crazy. Okay, I’ll take my pants off. I always have trunks to cover me because something can happen with the pants; they can rip. This is why I always wear trunks, not because I was prepared. One time I didn’t have trunks; I had boxers. People started that chant, so I took my pants off, and people [cheers]. ‘I am the heel.’ The people chant, ‘Take your pants off,’ So, I took my pants off.”

Nick Jackson Comments on “I Would Do Anything For Tony Khan At This Point, I Don’t Think He Gets Enough Praise And Credit”
A recent episode of the Being The Elite show on YouTube featured The Young Bucks’ Nick Jackson giving his thoughts about working for Tony Khan in AEW and his belief that Khan doesn’t get enough praise and credit for his work in the company.
“I go, at the end, I go Tony, I don’t know how much more of these pay-per-views I could do. (Cutler: Is that into the camera?) Yeah. I walked through the curtain. Tony goes, ‘I can’t believe you said that!’ Gives me a big hug. I don’t know why I said it, but, man, I would do anything for Tony at this point. I love that man. We’ve given our entire careers to him, and he’s given us so much. So I don’t think he gets enough praise and credit from us.”
