AEW: Austin Creed on Swerve Strickland’s Original Pitch For The New Level In AEW, Kyle Fletcher on His Goal To Win AEW World Title & His Belief Intensity Is His Best Quality As A Pro Wrestler, Walker Stewart Reflects on His 10/14 AEW Dynamite & Collision Show Commentary Appearance

Austin Creed Comments on Swerve Strickland’s Original Pitch For The New Level In AEW

As noted before, this past August’s AEW All In 2026 event at Wembley Stadium in London, England featured Kofi and Austin Creed, former Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods in WWE, making their official AEW debut. Kofi and Creed revealed their new tag team name of The New Level and teamed up with Swerve Strickland to win the AEW World Trios Championship in a Trios Roulette Royale match at the event.

Yahoo Sports’ Uncrowned held a recent interview with Creed. One of the topics discussed included Creed’s thoughts about Strickland’s original plans for him and Kofi in AEW.

“[Strickland] goes, ‘Look, if we jump in this trios [situation], you get a chance to wrestle, what, six, seven other tag-teams right from the jump at Wembley

So logically, well, of course we want to put hands on everybody as quick as we can. And now by winning those titles, we beat a bunch of other very credible, very good tag-teams that AEW has to offer. And so it’s about making sure that we are getting the reps with all of these people on the roster, and having the most dangerous man in all of AEW [Strickland] at our side while we’re doing that, with [manager] Prince Nana as well.”

Kyle Fletcher Comments on His Goal To Win AEW World Title & His Belief Intensity Is His Best Quality As A Pro Wrestler

Forbes held a recent interview with Kyle Fletcher. One of the topics discussed included Fletcher’s thoughts about how close he is to his goal of becoming the AEW World Champion in his AEW career.

“I feel like this is going to be a very hard question to answer. I think I feel ready. I feel ready for it. I want the pressure that comes with it. I want to be the guy that is the face of the company, and I think the guy who has that championship, by proxy, becomes the face of the company.

I want to be the man who’s taking that title anywhere and everywhere, getting it on TV shows in front of people. And I want to be that guy, and I feel like I’m ready to be that guy. It’s just not up to me, so I need to keep doing what I’m doing. I need to keep putting my best foot forward. I need to keep being the best version of myself, and when other people realize that I’m ready for that spot, then it will happen. I can’t put a timeline on it, really. It’s pretty hard to put a timeline on it. But I feel closer than ever, and I hope that it’s not too far off.”

In a separate recent interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Fletcher also gave his thoughts about his belief that intensity is his best quality as a pro wrestler.

“I would say my intensity is what I’m best at. I think that not a lot of people can match that passion because to me it is real – I treat it like it’s real, and I think that does come across. And I think that is when you’re truly able to lose yourself in a match or whatever it is.

Everyone at this point knows what wrestling is. They know it’s a performance. But if I can even for a second or a minute or a few minutes or a whole match, if I can get you to believe that I’m trying to kill somebody and win a championship, then I’ve done my job.”
